Matt, Doug, Dan, Chris, Rob, Bud and myself all wound up at the Y-City Scale Modelers show at the end of September to enter many, many kits for the contest.

The numbers were down a bit from last year but the quality was still there. Vendors were what you would expect to see at that event.

A couple club members also assisted with the show's Make N Take program.

As always, the club stole the show during the awards presentation.

NNL #38

The following week, Rob, Chris and myself went to the NNL Nationals. Met up with the new Scale Auto guys and one of the photographers said they will be at the next Buckeye Classic taking pictures.

All three of us got models photographed for Scale Auto  magazine. Model Cars also shot a few for publication in a couple years...

The Model quality was great as always, but the quantity was down...again. Only 475 on the tables. From what I overheard, they are going to have the 40th NNL in a couple years and that may be the last one. The show has been dwindling for a few years now. Vendors were about half the room. Way down.

Even though I'm no longer club President, my goal is still to have the NNL here in Columbus in the future,

{October Meeting Notes}

Treasurer Doug announced we have $2415 in the bank.

We had 11 Members show up bringing 10 models to the display table.

Matt snagged $12 in the monthly raffle.

January is coming up and that means dues will be due. Shill $10 or a sealed kit from your stash. Doesn't necessarily need to be sealed on the outside.

As we get to the next Buckeye Classic, some members come up with ideas to throw around just to see if there is any interest.

One idea in particular was seeing if it would be a better idea to get a different venue for our show or add a second building. We are growing each and every year in all areas and Matt had to turn down approximately 15 vendors last year, simply because we didn't have enough tables and space.

Can't remember who, (sorry), came up with the idea to try to acquire the building next to the one we use for our show. Doug did some checking around and found it wouldn't be too much more that we're paying now.

Doug checked to see if it would be available for the next 'Classic. Well...

Doug managed...from Kentucky, no less...to reserve both building for our show.  One for vendors and awards and one for the contest. Now we have even more details to work out, but we can do it!
